What: permanent deletion of your Twunein account and the personal data tied to it.
Where: in-app (recommended) or via the form on this page.

Reversible? No. Once executed, the deletion cannot be undone.
Just want a break? Use account closure instead.

Permanent. Deletion cannot be reversed once it has been executed. Please download anything you want to keep first (e.g. uploaded MP3s).

Delete from the app (fastest)

Open Twunein on your phone.
Go to Settings → Privacy & Security.
Tap Delete account.
Re-authenticate (password or biometric), type the word DELETE, and confirm.

You will be signed out immediately and the deletion job will run in the background.

Submitting opens your mail app addressed to privacy@twunein.app with your details pre-filled. We acknowledge within 72 hours and complete deletion within 30 days (typically < 24 hours).

Data removed

The following are permanently erased from our active systems:

Account profile	Email, display name, avatar, partner email
Authentication	Firebase Auth user record, password hash, OAuth tokens
Sessions you hosted	Room metadata, queue, listener list
Library content	Uploaded MP3 files in Firebase Storage, share grants
Playlists	All playlists you created and their items
Preferences	Theme, default volume, sync quality, notification toggles
Entitlement record	Plan tier and history

Anonymised diagnostics that contain no identifier capable of pointing back at you (e.g. an aggregate crash count) may remain in our analytics for the standard Firebase retention windows.

Data retained & why

A small amount of information is retained only where law requires:

Timeline

T+0: request received and acknowledged automatically.
Within 72 hours: a human verifies the request matches the account email.
Within 24 hours of verification (typical): account, library, playlists, sessions, and preferences are deleted from active systems.
Within 30 days: deletion is propagated through backups (encrypted, automatically rotated).
Within 12 months: the deletion record itself is purged (only required to demonstrate compliance).

Subscriptions

Deleting your Twunein account does not automatically cancel paid subscriptions, because they are managed by Apple or Google — not by us. Please cancel them yourself before requesting deletion:

Google Play: Play Store app → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
App Store: Settings app → your name → Subscriptions.

If we receive a deletion request from a user with an active subscription, we will email a one-time reminder before proceeding.

Changed your mind?

If your only goal is to stop using Twunein for a while without losing anything, please use account closure — your data is retained and your account reactivates the next time you sign in (within 180 days).
